What I did not see was ice axes to “self-arrest” I would assume if the need for crampons was present it would also be useful to have a tool to keep you from sliding on ice and snow. I’ve used ice axes for ice climbing but more so for situations where if I fall I’d slip down the mountain so instead we use both crampons and ice picks to stop ourselves from accelerating down a mountain. As a result, I would assume the crampons were not necessarily for any particularly high alpine adventures, but instead for navigating everyday life in icy winters. Things like making it up to fishing holes, to other houses, for hunting, etc.
